I have finally achieved status as a private pilot. My checkride was blessedly shorter than expected, though I fear my performance during the oral part of the exam was barely satisfactory. Nonetheless, I am pleased to have successfully passed the test, and a great weight has been lifted from my mind.

In celebration of my victory, I purchased Coldplay's album Parachutes. I find the imagery used in the lyrics powerful, and the music conveys the feeling behind the words with stunning accuracy. Being able to enjoy music without the weight of a checkride burdening my mind is a welcome relief. I feel as though I may now continue with my life. Though I have more checkrides to overcome in the future, I will simply enjoy the now.
