5.07.2003 :::
I took a long way home tonight over roads seldom travelled. There's something about driving down lonely country roads under the stars, dreaming sweet dreams and listening to songs of lonesome love. I dreamt of a fair young lady in the seat next to mine, her face turned away as she gazed over the dark countryside, our joined hands resting on the parking brake. There was no need for words, no need for anything except to revel in the beauty around us. I had dreamt of such things on nights past, but always my thought was, "Ah, how wonderful this would be." Tonight, I thought, "Ah, how wondeful this will be." No longer is love's possibility precluded in my mind and heart. Granted, I don't know when or how it will come, but it will come. My dreams will take wing again, just not yet.
